There is a great opportunity right now to fast track to JetBlue’s Mosaic status within the next 3 months. You have until September 7, 2015 to register and after registration you have 90 days to earn 3,750 TrueBlue points. If you are able to earn these points, you’ll receive Mosaic status until December 31, 2016. Additionally, if you complete the challenge you’ll also earn an additional 15,000 points which is worth about $250 towards future JetBlue travel.
How to Accrue 3,750 JetBlue Points
JetBlue’s TrueBlue program has a revenue based earning system. For every $1 spent on your flight, you’ll earn 3 BASE points. That means you must spend $1,250 on JetBlue over the course of the next 90 days, not including taxes or fees. Unfortunately, bonus points, partner points, and booking bonuses will not count. Of course this is a decent amount of money to spend and I wouldn’t suggest any mileage runs to accrue this status. But if you already have flights scheduled, this could be a good opportunity.
Benefits of Mosaic Status
While Mosaic status isn’t nearly as good as having status on some other airlines, it still will get you something. My favorite perk of the program is that change and cancellation fees are waived for Mosaic members and others on the itinerary. This means you can book with points and cancel at any time and your points are deposited back into your account (similar to Southwest). You’ll also earn an additional 3 TrueBlue points per dollar on your JetBlue flight, for a total of up to 9 points per dollar if you book on jetblue.com. You’ll also be able to check your first and second bag for free, plus others on your itinerary. You can learn more about Mosaic status here.
