$10 Statement Credit at New York City Restaurants

American Express is offering a great promotion where you can receive a $10 statement credit when you spend $50 at a participating NYC restaurant. Fortunately, it seems that many (although not all!) restaurants are participating so this is a great way to save some money will dining out! This offer runs through September 30, 2015.

The $50 must be in a single transaction, so the best way to maximize this offer is to purchase a $50 gift card at the restaurant. Gift card purchases (as long as you are paying the restaurant and not a third-party) will trigger the statement credit. This allows you to combine many discounted gift cards during a single visit, use a gift card across multiple visits, use a gift card past the promotions expiration date, or even use a gift card at the same restaurant chain in a different city. For example, Dos Caminos is a participating restaurant and you can purchase a gift card to use at their location in Ft. Lauderdale or a partner restaurant, such as The Strip House in Las Vegas. This is of course assuming Dos Caminos sells gift cards directly at their restaurant, I haven’t yet checked it out. But just an “out of the box” example!

To take advantage of this promotion you must register your American Express card here. Make sure to register ALL of your cards to fully maximize your savings. Similar to Amex Offers promotions, all personal and business cards qualify (corporate cards do not). Additionally, primary and secondary cards qualify. Prepaid cards and Target REDCards do not qualify, but Serve and Bluebird do.

You can check to see if your desired restaurant is participating by searching for the name on this map.

  1. One of my Amex offers is $25 off $50 or more at a real nice restaurant in my area. Looks like we’ll be using TWO cards to pay for this dinner.
