Double Cash Back with Ebates

This post may contain affiliate links from our advertising partners, such as American Express. Read my Advertiser Disclosure policy here. Additionally, some of the offers on this page may no longer be available through Deals We Like.

The cash back shopping portal, Ebates, is offering double cash back at many popular stores. While the best cash back offer was 16% at many stores close to a year ago, I am finding some great cash back opportunities with this current promotion. This is a Leap Year special, so I assume these increased cash back offers are only available for today. Just make sure to compare the cash back savings on the site to ensure you are getting the best cash back option.

For example, Macy’s, Groupon, Kohls, JC Penney, and Carters are offering 10% cash back. Sephora,, and Neiman Marcus are offering 8%. And Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, and Lord & Taylor are offering 6% cash back. Of course there are many other stores offering various cash back offers as well – I just highlighted some of the more popular ones.

How does a Ebates work?

I first want to preface it that going through an online shopping portal to earn cash back will take you an extra minute, if that. Ultimately, you go to the shopping portal first, but complete your online shopping through the merchants site directly. In the background, the purchase is tracked and you’ll get credit by going through Ebates. Note that these screen shots below were taken awhile ago so the offers are not accurate with todays cash back offerings.

  • First, you go to If you are not already a member, you’ll receive a $10 bonus after you spend $25 within the first 90 days of signing up. You must sign up through a referral link (thank you in advance for using mine, but feel free to post yours in the comments section!)
  • Search for the store you are looking to make a purchase at and click the green “Search” button.

  • Click the “Shop Now” button. Right above it you’ll see the current cash back listed.
  • Ebates BonusEbates will then take you directly to the merchants site. For the example above, you will be taken directly to as if you typed that in your web browser to begin with. There is absolutely no difference, but you are now getting cash back on your entire purchase, which is amazing!!!

This is a really really really good opportunity for cash back at participating merchants! Enjoy the extra savings!
