IHG is back with offering another Accelerate promotion, and like every other time, the offer that you personally receive will be targeted to your specific account. With that being said, it seems like everyone is eligible for some sort of promotion, some might just be better than others. This promotion will run September 6 through December 15, 2016.

To see your unique promotion, you’ll need to register here. You’ll have to complete specific tasks to earn bonus points for every eligible stay (make sure to read the terms per task to ensure your rate qualifies).

My personal offer is actually somewhat okay. It will actually only require three nights to earn the 33,500 points. Not something I am personally going to take advantage of.

Remember, some “tasks” overlap, so one stay might check multiple boxes. If I stay over the weekend (2 nights) in a Holiday Inn using a member exclusive rate, I’ve completed the “A Bonus Weekend Stay” and am half way there for completing the “Change Your View”, “Your Rate”, and “Stay More, Earn More”. If I complete one more night (any day of the week) and again stay at a different Holiday Inn and use a member exclusive rate, I’ll check off tasks 2-5. To complete task 1 all I have to do is download the IHG app. If I complete all 5 tasks I’ll earn 33,500 bonus points. This is probably worth $200, which is great if I actually have those stays upcoming, but I do not! Doing a mattress run for these points is not worth it, in my opinion.

As I mentioned above, I will not be taking advantage of this promotion. I personally do not have any planned stays during this time. At the minimum I’ll download the IHG app and get 500 points.

Anyone else targeted for another offer?

Why don’t you shift some of your planned stays at other hotel chains to IHG to earn $200? It’s not bad earning $200 with 3 nights at some IHG hotels, unless you can earn more than $200 staying at your originally planned hotels. SPG promotion is coming up soon but I doubt you can earn $200 with 3 nights. Marriott Megabonus this fall may have the potential to earn you more than $200 with 4 single night stays if you are offered the version where every 2 stays earns you a cat 1-5 cert. Most likely Hyatt will not have any new promotion for the remainder of this year.

If I already have a stay booked for December, will that count towards promo or do I have to be registered for promo before booking?
