Make up to $82.10 in Free Money at Staples!

This week only, if you purchase $300 of Visa gift cards at Staples, you’ll get a $20 Visa gift card (after rebate). The exciting part of this promotion is that you can double dip it with the Staples Amex Offer which I wrote about last week! Unfortunately though, that offer is targeted so you may or may not see it on your AmericanExpress.com account. The Staples rebate promotion is limited to 1 per household and ends October 29, 2016.

Steps to fully take advantage:

  • Save the Amex Offer to your card through your AmericanExpress.com account. If you have more than one card with this offer, make sure to use the multiple browser trick (read this post before saving this offer to your account). The staples offer is: “Spend $100 or more at Staples (in-store or online), and get a $25 statement credit.”
  • If you have no registered Amex cards: Purchase a $100 and $200 Visa gift card preferably with a Chase Ink Bold, Chase Ink Plus, or Amex SimplyCash card. You will make a profit of $7.10 with this transaction.
  • If you registered 1 Amex card: In the same transaction, purchase a $100 and $200 Visa gift card. Have the cashier split the transaction and put $100 on the registered Amex and the remaining amount ideally on an Ink Bold/Ink Plus/SimplyCash to earn 5x points. You will be spending $312.90 for the $300 Visa gift card, but will get back $45 ($25 in statement credits on your Amex and $20 in the form of a Visa gift card). You will make $32.10 with this transaction.
  • If you registered 2 Amex cards: In the same transaction, purchase a $100 and $200 Visa gift card. Have the cashier split the transaction and put $100 on the first registered Amex, $100 on the registered synced Amex, and the remaining amount ideally on an Ink Bold/Ink Plus/Simply Cash to earn 5x points. You will be spending $312.90 for the $300 Visa gift card, but will get back $70 ($50 in statement credits on your 2 Amex cards and $20 in the form of a Visa gift card). You will make $57.10 with this transaction.
  • If you registered 3 Amex cards: In the same transaction, purchase a $100 and $200 Visa gift card. Have the cashier split the transaction and put $100 on the first registered Amex, $100 on the second registered Amex, and the remaining amount of $112.90 on the third registered Amex. You will be spending $312.90 for the $300 Visa gift card, but will get back $95 ($75 in statement credits on your 3 Amex cards and $20 in the form of a Visa gift card). You will make $82.10 with this transaction.

Between my husband and my account we do have three registered Staples Amex Offers so I am able to fully take advantage of this offer. Now, if this Staples offer wasn’t so targeted of available via Twitter, this would result in way more free money! The only caveat is that $200 Visa gift cards at Staples can sometimes go fast!

Not too bad for 10 minutes spent at Staples and filling out a quick rebate form!

  1. Oops, I purchased 2 * 2 200, suppose get rebate twice (different address), problem is, I used some staple’s reward #, now on easy rebate, it won’t recognize the 2nd rebate
