Southwest: Earn up to 3,00 points – spend $150, earn 500 bonus points; spend $500, earn 1,000 bonus points; spend $1,000, earn 3,000 bonus points. Related blog post

And remember, points earned from the Southwest Rapid Rewards shopping portal count towards the Southwest Airlines Companion Pass, however, typically bonus points earned (like this 3,000 point promo) do NOT count.

United: Earn up to 5,000 points – spend $150, earn 500 bonus miles; spend $750, earn 2,500 bonus miles; spend $1,500, earn 5,000 bonus miles. Related blog post

To earn the maximum number of points/miles does require a decent amount of online spend – $4,000 to be exact! But, if you have some large purchases you are looking to make, I highly suggest you take these bonus offers into consideration. These bonuses are also in additional to the normal miles you’d receive anyways by going through one of the online shopping portal sites first.

What is an online shopping portal?

I know for many people, the concept of an online shopping portal is extremely foreign. However, I want to ensure you that it is an extremely simple process and literally takes an extra minute to complete your shopping purchase. If you are not familiar with these portals, they are an online website that you go to first, search for the store, and then you are taken directly to the desired merchants website. You then continue to shop at that merchant the same exact was as if you went to the site first. Your purchase is tracked in the background and you’ll then earn points, miles, or cash back (depending on the site used) for your purchase.

Enjoy your extra points and miles!

  1. I bought several GCs with hopes that they will be counted towards the bonus. Let’s see. I know GCs are excluded but not sure how strict these portals are with the rules. I will post the results.
