I Just Made a Quick and Easy $153, Plus Possibly More!

A few days ago I wrote about an awesome Amex Offer where you can actually make money by purchasing gift cards and reselling them! I took advantage of this offer on all 9 of my eligible cards and within less then an hours time made a quick and easy $153! And there is a potential I might make another $172.80 on this transaction for a grand total of $325.80 profit! You can take advantage too! Here are the steps to make some money. Of course, your profit will differ and depend on the number of American Express credit cards you have.

Step 1: Register for the Neiman Marcus Amex Offer

Sign into your AmericanExpress.com account, go to your “Amex Offers and Benefits” and find the Neiman Marcus offer. Make sure to add this offer to every single American Express card you have. But, first read the multi-browser trick to make sure to enroll the offer for every single card.

Step 2: Go to a Cash Back Portal

When I purchased the Neiman Marcus gift cards, TopCashBack was paying 9.6% on Neiman Marcus purchases. While gift cards are excluded in the terms of most cash back portals, reports show that people have been paid out on Neiman Marcus gift card purchases. Right now, TopCashBack.com is paying out 8.5%. While no guarantee that you’ll get paid back, it takes an extra minute to go this route.

The day after my Neiman Marcus gift card purchases, I received an email from TopCashBack saying that my order was tracked and is in pending status. If approved, I’ll receive $19.20 PER $200 gift card purchased. So, if this goes through (takes about 5 weeks), that is actually another $172.80 in my pocket!! With an 8.5% payout, that will get you an extra $17 PER $200 gift card purchased. If this goes through, I’ll actually make a profit of $325.80!

Step 3: Purchase a $200 Neiman Marcus Gift Card

On the Neiman Marcus site, search for “gift card” and you will be presented with all the Neiman Marcus gift card options. Scroll down the site and purchase an individual $200 gift card. Make sure to purchase an e-gift card to avoid the $5 shipping fee. Repeat this process for every registered American Express card you have. Gift cards could take up to 2 days to be emailed to you.

Step 4: Sell your Gift Card!

Cardpool.com will currently buy your $200 gift card for $167. Of course this number could change and go down. But, I assume it will never go down further then $160ish, so you’ll still make money. I assume the quicker you sell, the better the profit. It took me no time to enter all my gift cards in their system and process the sale. If you want a higher profit, you can always opt for an Amazon gift card instead of a check to be sent to you. This will get you $10 more. While I spend a ton at Amazon, I opted for the cash as I didn’t really want $1,800 worth of Amazon gift cards at this moment.

    • @Bob – Gift cards take about 1-2 days to receive. Remember, Neiman Marcus is probably getting slammed with 10x the amount of gift cards they typically sell online.

  1. Cardpool has taken mine all day – so I’m up $112. I’m half way there. Now I begin MY Amex cards. Please, please, please Top Cash Back – BE THERE!
