The Citi Hilton Credit Cards Might Be Going Away Very Soon!

This post may contain affiliate links from our advertising partners, such as American Express. Read my Advertiser Disclosure policy here. Additionally, some of the offers on this page may no longer be available through Deals We Like.

For awhile now, Hilton has had four different co-branded credit cards – two with American Express and two with Citi. However, last week they announced that starting in 2018 they were forming an exclusive partnership with American Express which means the two Citi cards would go by the wayside. While there has been no announcement on what would happen to these two Citi cards, the chances of the two card offers being around until the end of this calendar year are rare.

It actually might even be sooner then we thought. The Frequent Miler has found that only a few application links are actually working and you might have to play around with various browsers to get the application to appear on your computer. This means that if you were thinking about applying for either of the two Citi cards, you might want to apply soon! These two cards could go by the wayside any day now (although hopefully they will last a little bit longer).

It looks like most of these links are working when you open them in a private or incognito browser. If they do not work on one browswer, check another – switch between Internet Explorer, Safari, Chrome, etc.

The Two Offers and Working Links:

  • Citi® Hilton Honors™ Reserve Card: Earn 2 free WEEKEND nights after spending $2,500 within the first four months. $95 annual fee. A weekend consists of a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday night. Not available if you’ve opened or closed a Citi Hilton card within the past 24 months.
  • Citi® Hilton Honors™ Visa Signature® CardEarn 40,000 Hilton Honors points after spending $1,000 on the card within the first 4 months. No annual fee.

The Reserve card is a great sign up offer where you can get 2 free nights to use at any hotel within the Hilton chain (this also includes Conrad, Waldorf Astoria, etc.). If you are looking to stay at an expensive hotel (think Maldives!) this could save you some serious money! The free nights expire 1 year after they are issued. So if you are looking to redeem the free nights in August 2018, as an example, make sure you do not hit your minimum spend until August 2017 (you have 4 months to spend the $2,500). Keep in mind though the free nights are valid for a weekend only. But you can always use your Hilton points for nights pre or post the weekend.

The Visa Signature card is nothing great in my opinion. But, if you are looking to increase your Hilton balance and are fine with another credit pull, then it could be worth it.

Feel free to comment below with whether or not you were able to get the application to work. Enjoy!
