Earn 8,000 Bonus Miles Just for Shopping Online!

Over the past week, I wrote about some airline bonus offers by going through an online shopping portal to do all your shopping online. Currently, there are three offers that I know about:

  • Southwest Airlines: Earn up to 2,00 points (expires August 18, 2017)
  • United: Earn up to 3,000 miles (expires August 18, 2017)
  • American Airlines: Earn up to 2,000 miles (expires August 18, 2017)
  • Delta: Earn up to 1,000 miles (expires August 3, 2017)

To earn the maximum number of miles requires you to spend a total of $2,000 ($550 with Southwest, $600 with United, $500 with American, and $350 with Delta). Clearly, this is not a small amount of money, but if you have some big purchases over the next few weeks, I suggest seeing if you can maximize all three portal bonuses to earn as many bonus miles as possible. You can also earn slightly less miles for less spend! Remember, these bonuses are also in additional to the normal miles you’d receive anyways by going through one of the online shopping portal sites first.

What is an online shopping portal?

I know for many people, the concept of an online shopping portal is extremely foreign. However, I want to ensure you that it is an extremely simple process and literally takes an extra minute to complete your shopping purchase. If you are not familiar with these portals, they are an online website that you go to first, search for the store, and then you are taken directly to the desired merchants website. You then continue to shop at that merchant the same exact was as if you went to the site first. Your purchase is tracked in the background and you’ll then earn points, miles, or cash back (depending on the site used) for your purchase. There is absolutely no reason not to earn these extra points/miles or free money!
