JetBlue is having a huge fare sale where fare are dropping as low as $39 one-way. If you are looking to getaway this spring and even during spring break, this is an amazing opportunity to fly for cheap. Also, with JetBlue’s current waiver in place, if you book a reservation now, JetBlue will waive your change or cancelation fee if you decide to cancel due to Coronavirus or really any reason. This is a two-day sale for fares booked through March 11 for travel March 18 through June 18, 2020.

Note: I am not advocating anyone to travel or not to travel. That is a personal decision, but just wanted to let you know about an opportunity, especially since you can make a speculative reservation with the hopes that things clear up soon.

Also, if you want to use JetBlue points, this is also a good time to redeem. With JetBlue the number of points needed for a free flight is directly related to the price. So a less expensive flight means less points required. Typically, JetBlue points are worth about 1.5 cents per point, although that has changed slightly now that they have introduced JetBlue Basic Fares.

If your plans are flexible, use the JetBlue Fare Finder which will give you the cheapest price for every day of the month.

Already booked a flight and the price went down with this JetBlue sale?

If you’ve booked a flight in the past 5 days and the fare price has decreased, give JetBlue a call and they’ll give you a credit voucher for the price difference. The voucher is valid for 12 months from the day it is earned and can be used for any passenger.

Additionally, if you are a JetBlue Mosaic member, you can reprice your ticket at any point. Just call the JetBlue Mosaic number and they reprice your ticket for you and all passengers on your itinerary for the lower fare price. This works for both paid and point reservations and is one of the best reasons to have Mosaic status.

Overall…

I personally as able to book ridiculously low flights for my kids April spring break. We already have a trip to California planned, but since we have JetBlue Mosaic status, we were able to re-price the fares. In the case that California is also not the best option in April due to Coronavirus, I also made a backup flight for a completely different destination that I might be more comfortable with.

As of now, I am not completely writing off a Spring Break trip, but I will definitely re-evaluate once the time comes. With Spring Break in our school system 5 weeks away, I am hoping that things are more under control.

Even if you are nervous about booking, now is a great time to book some flights due to the waivers in place. Just remember that if you do cancel, you’ll end up with a TrueBlue credit — which can be used for any passenger.
