C’est La Vie Twitter Amex Offers, It’s Been Fun

WOW! I didn’t see this one coming. My beloved Amex Offers are no longer available via Twitter. Amex has fully done away with being able to register for an offer with both Twitter and Facebook. Facebook is no surprise as we haven’t seen an offer available in years. Although I guess I shouldn’t be surprised about Twitter since it has been months since a new offer has popped up. This is extremely disappointing as I’ve earned thousands of dollars with these Amex Offers and many of them were due to them being available via Twitter.

We are now left with registering for Amex Offers solely through AmericanExpress.com. While there are still some great offers available through our personal accounts, there are a few reasons why this is not great:

  • Offers available through AmericanExpress.com are targeted. That means you will not see every offer available. With Twitter, everyone was able to register.
  • Third-party American Express credit cards can no longer take advantage of Amex Offers. There is no way of seeing these credit cards in your AmericanExpress.com account, thus no way of registering. With Twitter, even third-party credit cards could link their accounts and take advantage of these offers.
  • Registering for offers are not nearly as easy and quick through your AmericanExpress.com account. If you only have one Amex credit card then no big deal, but if you have multiple Amex cards, it is a time consuming effort to get every offer registered. With Twitter, you simply needed to tweet the hashtag offer from your account and you were registered – and you could use Tweet Deck to register for all offers with one single tweet.

For now, you can still register for the same offers on multiple cards by using the multiple browser trick. However, my guess is we will see that end at some point as well. But for now, keep taking advantage of those offers and earning free money!
