My family recently returned from the Hyatt Ziva Cancun and had an amazing time! This was actually our second time visiting this resort – we loved it so much the first time, we decided to return again! Although this year was slightly different then last year as the weather wasn’t in our favor, that absolutely did not change how we felt about the resort. We made the best of it and we ended up spending a lot of time at the Hyatt Ziva Cancun Kids Club. Both my kids LOVED the Kid’s Club and my oldest was begging to go every single day. It was a nice opportunity for my oldest to play with kids her age and make “friends”. She seriously had a blast and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an amazing resort with a wonderful Kid’s Club. I am also putting together a video of the Kid’s Club so stay tuned!
The best part about the Kid’s Club is that it is absolutely FREE! That is right, no extra charge! You can use it all day every day and not pay an extra dime. Some Kid’s Club can easily cost $100 a day, so not having to pay anything extra is quite nice. Our only expense was tipping the wonderful staff that worked there (by no means required, but they work hard and were so appreciative).
Kids between the ages of 4-12 can be dropped off at any time between 9am and 9pm. For families with younger kids or for those that want to hang out in the Kids Club with their age appropriate kids, they have hour long family slots three times a day (on Sundays instead of 1 hour slots, 3x a day, they offer 1 three hour slot in the morning). There is a Kid’s Club schedule which allows for some structure to the day. Activities include: beach time, pool time, arts and crafts, face painting, dancing, board games, disco party, movies, video games, etc. And they really do keep the schedule, but are totally flexible if your child would prefer something else, i.e., stay in the pool instead of arts and crafts or vice versa! There is really a bunch to do in the Kid’s Club.
The indoor area has a bunch of games, building blocks, dolls, toys, art supplies, foosball table, air hockey, etc. There are also these cool interactive tables which have a bunch of fun and educational games to play with – it was pretty high tech if you ask me! It really caters towards kids of all ages, which is very nice.
There is also an amazing pool area with a few different play structures, slides, and waterfalls – perfect for kids of all ages. There is one large water slide which allows four kids to race together at the same time, a tunnel slide and open slide underneath the water bucket, and a small fish slide for the little ones. The pool is probably a foot or so deep which means all kids can stand and play by themselves – important for those with one year olds! There are always staff members outside to make sure the kids are safe and they do a good job at enforcing the rules.
They also have time during the day where they take the kids to the beach as well as the stage area which allows them to run around and play various games. And if the weather is bad (which we unfortunately experienced), they have a rainy day schedule which allows for more fun games indoors. Every Friday night they also have a huge Mexican fiesta for kids where they hang up a large pinata filled with candy and every kid gets a turn. This was definitely one of my daughters favorite night time activities!
You can leave your child there for all meals – they will feed them lunch and/or dinner so you do not need to take them to a restaurant if you do not want or bring them food. They just ask that you let them know in advance so they can get enough food for all of the kids. They also have nightly group activity for the kids with a different theme each evening. We typically took our daughter to dinner with us, but she did stay for the disco party one night which she found to be a lot of fun.
The staff was extremely creative and they were always interacting with the kids. They were incredibly nice and professional and I felt incredibly comfortable leaving my daughter at the Kids Club. It was a really nice environment at the Kid’s Club and everyone always seemed to be having fun.
Overall, I highly recommend this resort (for everyone!) and especially think it is great for those looking for an awesome Kid’s Club that will not break the bank.
