Last month I wrote about an awesome offer to earn $1,060 with the financial investing site Acorns. While that promotion is now over, a new “refer a friend” offer came out for the month of March! And it is pretty creative. To be part of the bonus you’ll have to invite at least 5 friends. Those 5 friends also have to invest at least $5 (easy!) and be a member for at least 30 days (again easy!). The $100,000 bonus will then be split amongst the number of people who successfully complete the referral requirements. For example, if 100 people are able to refer 5 qualifying friends, you’ll end up with a $1,000 bonus.
My Experience with Acorn
I’ve personally only been using this investment site for a month and right now I am at a 3 cent loss. I only have $30 invested so I am waiting a few months to see how this site really works. My real reason to originally join was because of the referral bonus!
Opening up an account is a very quick process taking no more then 5 minutes. You do have to give your social security number, which I do not love, but I still did it. Your call whether or not you are comfortable giving out your info. You’ll also need to link your checking account for the one-time or recurring deposit. You will also be charged a fee of $1 a month if you have less then $5,000 in the account or .25% if you have more then $5,000. While the fees can be steep, the referral bonus definitely makes up for it. You can open an account here.
The best thing about the sign up bonus is if you sign up now, your referral link is available immediately! So there is still time to get your friends on board. You can share your link through all your social media networks which makes it easy to get friends to sign up. This is a nice chunk of change so I suggest looking into it to see if it works for you!
There is also a “Found Money” section that works similar to an online shopping portal. Make a purchase with an Acorn partner through the Acorn site or with a linked credit/debit card and receive money back into your Acorn account. There are actually some generous payouts with their partners, which I will dedicate an entire post to later.
Here is my Acorn referral link. Thanks in advance for using it – I truly do appreciate it. I also invite you to leave your own referral link in the comments section below for readers to use. My goal is for everyone to make some money!
