Marriott and Starwood just announced their next promotion, but unfortunately it is nothing to write home about. And actually, it might be one of their worst promotions. Staring on your third night, you’ll earn:
- Starwood: Earn 250 bonus points per night, up to 12,000 bonus points
- Marriott: Earn 750 bonus points per night, up to 36,000 bonus points
With the Starwood and Marriott merger in place, it is very clear that they are fully streamlining their promotions. Since you can transfer your Marriott to SPG points at a 3:1 ratio, it makes sense that you’d earn 750 points at a Marriott property, but only 250 points at a Starwood property. I am a little dissapointed that the bonus points do not kick in until your 3rd night, but I am happy to see that this is not a promotion based on stays. Here is a list of all the participating Starwood hotels.
Both of the promotions run April 16 through July 30, 2018, but you must register by June 30, 2018. Just register now so you do not forget: Marriott Registration and Starwood Registration.

Correct me if I’m wrong please, but shouldn’t it be: “a pretty extensive list of PARTICIPATING Starwood hotels” – instead of: “a pretty extensive list of excluded Starwood hotels” ?
