Match Your Hyatt Status to MLife Status to Extend Your Hyatt Status Another Year!

For the past few years many folks have been able to maintain their Hyatt Explorist status through a quick and easy status match with MLife. Since World of Hyatt and MLife are partners they will give you reciprocal status with a simple online  match — both Hyatt Explorist or Globalist status will match to MLife Gold status. MLife runs on a very different status schedule then most hotel chains where your status is valid from October to October. That means if you match your Explorist or Globalist status now to MLife Gold, come March when World of Hyatt resets status levels, you’ll still have MLife Gold status (since it won’t expire until October). Once your Hyatt status is then downgraded (assuming you were not able to maintain status), you can then request a status match from MLife to World of Hyatt. MLife Gold status will then match to World of Hyatt Explorist status. That will ultimately then get you Explorist status again for the next year! Of course you have a little over two months to do this, but I suggest just doing it now so you do not forget!

Now, while this has worked for the past years, there is no guarantee that this matching back and forth will work again come next March. But, it is worth a shot and you might as well match now to fully prepare! Also, this is a great way to get some perks at MLife properties if Las Vegas is on your vacation radar!

Keep in mind that some of the benefits that come with World of Hyatt Explorist status are only valid for those who have actually stayed 30 nights. For example, the free night certificate at a category 1-4 property is only valid for those who earned status the hard way, not through a status match. The 4 free lounge certificates, however, are valid to everyone who has earned Hyatt Explorist status, regardless of how it was earned.

I have Gold tier with M-Life currently and went to the Hyatt website and clicked opt in there my mistake. I think that one matches the M-Life tier to Hyatt. I found the link for matching Hyatt to M-Life but nothing seems to happen. It still shows expiring February 2019. Did I mess this up? Will they downgrade my status since I matched it the incorrect way first?

Thanks.

I have Gold with M-Life because I did the match last year when I had Hyatt Explorist. The link I clicked on seems to match it the other way around so I found another link to match it properly. Just not sure if that would confuse the system now since I matched it from both sides one after the other. I want to extend my Hyatt Explorist past February 2019. Thanks.

Simple, I was confused too but just open the link: scroll down to 2nd option “opt in” put in your Hyatt # and password then it wants you to put in your email and password for mlife, you see a green screen saying 10-2019 will update with 24 hours

Google “match mlife to Hyatt” or open link

I tried your link 2 days ago and received the green screen saying my account would be updated within 24 hours but so far my Hyatt account still says expiring Feb 28, 2019 (my club access certificate area does say they expire feb 2020 but I’m not sure how long that expiration date has been so). Has this link worked for anyone recently trying to match Mlife and Hyatt to 2020 Hyatt status? Or is it too early to try this?

I went to match and they said it was already matched. The match is over in Feb. Maybe I need to wait till I lose the match and then redo it. Hyatt is up in Feb.

My match wasn’t immediate. Give it a day or so for the system to update to February 2020. Probably won’t matter much unless you have a trip planned before the Match 2019 program changes. Just read this news yesterday on several blogs including this one. Hyatt will no longer be based on membership levels.

are folks saying that hyatt will extend the explorist status to feb 2020 if now requesting for a match to an existing explorist status ending in feb 2019?

Yes but might not be worth much after March 2019 with the new changes.

No, if you already have status matched from 2018 it will NOT work until after it expires on February 28, 2019 (so you have to do it March 1, 2019) and when you do, you won’t get the 4 upgrades this way. I think they thought it through well to block you from getting the 4 Upgrades with the match.

If you try to status match you will get an error that says, “Your M life Rewards and World of Hyatt accounts have already been matched”.
