Purchasing Choice Points Can Save Your Family Money — Take Advantage of the 30% Discount

Choice Hotels is running a promotion where if you purchase their points you’ll receive a 30% discount. All you have to do is purchase at least 5,000 points by February 18, 2019 and the discount is yours.

This is actually one of those promotions where you could actually save a ton of money by purchasing points vs. paying the lowest rate. For example, I recently became away of Choice’s vacation club partnership with Bluegreen Vacation. There is a great property right near Loon Mountain which is an extremely family friendly ski mountain in New Hampshire. During Winter season this property only costs 16,000 points a night—and if available, you can even book a 2-bedroom suite for the same amount of points!

The South Mountain Resort near Loon Mountain is part of the Ascend collection where you can use your Choice points!

During peak dates you could easily pay over $250 for a standard room and around $330 for a two-bedroom suite.

Or, you can just redeem 16,000 points which you can purchase for $123.20.

Of course you are capped at purchasing 50,000 points per year, but remember that is per account. While I never suggest purchasing points speculatively, especially since we’ve seen 40% discounts in the past from Choice, if you are looking to getaway or have an upcoming vacation at a Choice property, do the math to see if purchasing points actually saves you money.
