Hyatt just announced a great addition to the World of Hyatt program where if you are staying at a Hyatt Place property, you have the option for early check-in or late check-out, for a low fee (or even free for those with status!). There are many times I would have loved to have this opportunity and while hotels are typically as generous as they can be with this, being able to put in the request ahead of time is ideal.

Of course the kicker here is that you these options are still based upon availability, but giving the hotel a heads up should now give the hotel time to plan accordingly, fingers crossed.

Early Check-In

With this option, you’ll be able to reserve either a 9am or 12pm check-in time.

  • Members: Starting at $10
  • Discoverist status: Starting at $10
  • Explorist status: Free
  • Globalist: Free

Late Checkout

With this option, those who have Explorist or Discoverist status already receive complimentary 2pm late check-out and those who have Globalist already receive complimentary 4pom late checkout. The real benefit here are for regular member without status, as they can then request 2pm late checkout starting at $10.

Overall…

This is definitely a good move in the right direction for Hyatt members. I also really like the Hyatt Place brand so this could definitely sway me to stay at one of their properties over another Hyatt hotel in the same city.
