Today was the big day where JetBlue announced their plans to start flying to London in 2021. This is huge as it will open up many more opportunities for travelers to get to Europe. While they still have not secured slots at any of the London airports, the jury is still out as to whether they’ll fly to Gatwick or Heathrow. As of now, however, their plans include flying these non-stop flights from New York (JFK) and Boston (BOS). Since I now live in Boston, I am thrilled to see this new opportunity. It will also help keep other carrier pricing down as well.
Hopefully, London is just the first destination of many other European destinations to come. JetBlue did suggest that we might eventually see flights to Amsterdam, Dublin, Lisbon, Madrid and Paris. Again, being based in Boston, my fingers are crossed that we see JetBlue expand into other markets. I know we have a few years to actually see these flights get their certification and announce their first flights — I am still very excited though!
Anyone else excited about these potential new routes?
