Like many Amazon promotions, this one is also targeted. And unfortunately no one in my household was initially deemed eligible. Now, days later, as I was making my [many] Amazon Cyber Monday purchases today, I noticed the banner ad on my account offering the promotion. Lo and behold, I was actually able to register for the $20 off $100 offer. You can check to see if you are eligible here.
It seems as though at some point, Amazon started re-targeting members, so I suggest double checking to see if you are eligible. This offer expires tonight, Dec. 2, 2019, so you only have a few more hours left to take advantage of this money-saving offer.
If you still aren’t eligible, there are still many other promotions to save money at Amazon, such as $30 off a $60+ purchase with just 1 Amex Membership Reward point and $15 off a $60 purchase with just 1 Chase Ultimate Reward point.
Overall…
You just have to use one Amex Membership Reward point to receive the discount which is great. You can even still use any gift cards tied to your account to pay for the rest of the total amount. With lots of great deals on Amazon today, this definitely helped put some money back into my wallet. Just remember that the discount can only be used on items sold and shipped by Amazon. Fortunately, this also includes gift cards.

Hi — thanks for the tip. I was targeted so I added the offer, made a purchase, used about 35 points and the rest cash on my AMEX … but there is no indication of a $20 credit. Is it posted later or ??? Thank you ….
A few hours after ordering, I did receive an e-mail from AMEX saying that if I complied with the terms of the offer, I would receive the credit. Good news!!
I am pretty much never targeted on any of these. That’s part of the reason I have dropped Prime and am doing much less with Amazon.
