UPDATE: This offer has expired.

Looking for a new credit card with a $0 balance transfer fee and 0% intro APR? If so, the The Amex EveryDay® Credit Card from American Express might be a good card for you. While I do not suggest getting into the points and miles game if you are in that boat, this is currently the only no annual fee travel points credit card that is offering these two perks as part of their welcome offer. So not only are you able to take some time to pay off your bill, you can also earn valuable points that will allow you to travel on a deal.

The Amex EveryDay® Credit Card from American Express just launched an offer where new members will have a $0 balance transfer fee if requested within the 60 days from account opening as well as a 0% intro APR for 15 months. On top of that, you’ll receive a welcome bonus of 10,000 Membership Reward points after you make $1,000 in purchases in the first 3 months. Terms Apply.

This is actually a really good card to have!

While the new welcome offer is enticing for some, this is actually a card that everyone should have in their wallet. It is one of my personal favorite credit cards to have and to use. This card was introduced about four years ago and become very popular since it was the first no annual fee card to be introduced that earns “full” Membership Reward points! There are two different types of Amex Membership Reward credit cards – those that earn full Membership Reward points and those that earn limited Membership Reward points. Accounts with full Membership Reward points means that you can transfer your points from your account to a partner hotel or airline program. If you have a credit card that earns limited Membership Reward points you will NOT be able to transfer your points to a partner loyalty programs and can only redeem your points for merchandise, gift cards, etc. Transferring your points to a partner program typically get you a much higher value for your points!

The Amex EveryDay® Credit Card from American Express is the only personal American Express credit card that earns you full Membership Reward points with no annual fee! The only other card that earns full points with no annual fee is a business credit card – The Blue Business℠ Plus Credit Card from American Express. This is huge since you’ll never have to worry about paying an annual fee and will always have an open Membership Rewards account that earns full points. This is important because if you cancel an Amex card that earns Membership Reward points, you will lose your points unless you have another Amex card that also earns full Membership Reward points. So let’s say you currently have an American Express Platinum card and are thinking about canceling the card, just as an example. You currently have points in your account and you do not want to transfer them out to a loyalty partner just yet as you aren’t 100% sure where you want to use them. If you have one of the two cards mentioned above then you will not lose your points and still be able to transfer them to a loyalty program at another time. You can learn more about this here.

Earn a lot of points at US supermarkets! With this card you’ll earn 2x points at US supermarkets, on up to $6,000 per year in purchases (then 1x). Not only that, if you use your card 20 or more times on purchases in a billing period you’ll earn 20% more points on those purchases (less returns and credits). So if you are eligible for the 20% bonus on a monthly basis, that means you are really earning 2.4x points at US supermarkets. If you value your Membership Reward points between 1.5 and 2 cents per point, that is somewhere between a 3.6% and 4.8% return. In my opinion, this is the best no annual fee card for your US Supermarket purchase!

Overall…

As previously mentioned, this is a great card and one of my personal favorites. So if you are looking for a new card that will help you pay off your bills with no extra charges, or just looking for a good card in general, I highly recommend. It holds a spot in my wallet and while I use this card when I go grocery shopping I also receive a bunch of statement credits throughout the year on Amex Offers.

Jen, thank you for your honesty and for correcting your mistake, which is hardly a serious one since you cannot be expected to know everything….you know, in the way that Alex apparently does because he (or she) claims to know that “you know very well…”. Alex, that’s (to use your phrase) “pretty shameful.” We all await your apology to Jen.

I can refer folks to a 15K offer for the same card with the same free loan deal. Not sure if you would accept my posting of details. I leave it to you.
