Choice Hotels just announced a new promotion for those looking to purchase their points. With this promotion you’ll receive a 40% bonus which can be an amazing deal for those looking to stay at a Choice Hotel. There are many times with the Choice Privileges program where purchasing points to redeem for a “free” night stay is actually cheaper than the lowest price you’ll pay directly with the hotel. This particular offer ends Dec. 5, 2019.
Another perk of this offer is that the caps have been raised. Typically you are capped at purchasing 120,000 points per calendar year, but right now they have raised it to 250,000 points.
As I mentioned above, purchasing points can actually save money. For example, my parents stayed at two Choice hotel properties during a trip town the California coast and they were able to redeem their points for a stay in both Carmel and Morro Bay. , purchasing Choice Points actually saved my family money! By purchasing points they saved about 50% off their hotel stay.
For those looking at more resort or higher end hotels, you can also redeem your points at properties within the Ascend Collection. These include some great hotels, including Bluegreen Vacation properties.
One of my favorite aspects of the Choice Privileges program is that you can redeem the same number of points for all room types. This means if you are looking at a property which offers a suite, you can use the same number of points as booking a standard room. As long as there is availability, the room is your without an up-charge.
Purchase Choice Privileges points can be a great opportunity to save money on an upcoming stay. It is also a great program for families since you can stay in a suite for the same number of points. We have personally stayed at a few Bluegreen Vacation resorts and I would highly recommend them. Just make sure to do the math to see if purchasing points will in fact be a deal for your vacation.
