Over the past week, four airline shopping portals announced bonus offers where you can  earn a ton of extra miles for your everyday online shopping. Get your back to school shopping done now! While I’ve already written about the American Airlines and Southwest offers, there are also bonus opportunities with United and Alaska Airlines.

American Airlines — Earn up to 2,000 bonus miles

Through August 18th you can earn a total of 1,500 bonus miles. Shop through the American Airlines AAdvantage shopping portal here.

  • Spend $150, earn 500 bonus miles
  • Spend $300, earn 1,000 bonus miles
  • Spend $500, earn 2,000 bonus miles

United Airlines — Earn up to 2,500 bonus miles

Through August 18th you can earn a total of 2,500 bonus miles. Shop through the United MileagePlus shopping portal here.

  • Spend $150, earn 500 bonus miles
  • Spend $350, earn 1,500 bonus miles
  • Spend $600, earn 2,500 bonus miles

Southwest Airlines — Earn up to 2,000 bonus points

Through August 18th you can earn a total of 2,000 bonus points. Shop through the Southwest Rapid Rewards shopping portal here.

  • Spend $125, earn 250 bonus points
  • Spend $300, earn 900 bonus points
  • Spend $550, earn 2,000 bonus points

Alaska Airlines — Earn up to 1,500 bonus miles

Through August 11th you can earn a total of 1,500 bonus miles. Shop through the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan shopping portal here.

  • Spend $150, earn 300 bonus miles
  • Spend $300, earn 750 bonus miles
  • Spend $500, earn 1,500 bonus miles

While earning 8,000 extra miles is awesome, it will require you to spend $2,150 which is probably way more then you spend while shopping online within a few week time period. So the chances of someone actually maximizing the bonuses for all four are slim. If you are indifferent to the miles you earn, the United one is by far the best. Also remember that the points earned for shopping online through the Southwest shopping portal count towards the companion pass, but the bonus points earned do not!

Which shopping portal bonus will you take advantage of?
