Daily Getaways Travel Discounts Announced (Weeks 1 and 2)

This post may contain affiliate links from our advertising partners, such as American Express. Read my Advertiser Disclosure policy here. Additionally, some of the offers on this page may no longer be available through Deals We Like.

As expected, the Daily Getaways by American Express site was updated today with the first two weeks of the offers posted. For those of you who are new to the points/miles and travel discount world, starting April 9th, Daily Getaways will offer various travel getaway deals for a heavily discounted price for 5 consecutive weeks. A different offer will be available each weekday and they typically sell out quick (some within seconds)! The daily offers can include anything travel related, for example: discounted points/miles for purchase, activities in various cities, hotels, car rentals, etc.

Since one of the sponsors is American Express, as a way to get deal seekers to use their credit cards, you will get an additional 10% off when using an Amex card (this includes co-branded cards). Last year, many reported being able to use Amex gift cards as well. All sales begin at 1pm EST each day, however, this year some offers are including pre-sale events an hour early. This can be obtained by grabbing a code that will be posted on the companies specific Facebook code.

At a first glance, there really isn’t anything that I am too interested it, but some of you might find some travel deals that benefit you! Last year I was able to grab some Radisson Hotel stays and Wyndham points. Here they are:

  1. […] While week 3 of the Daily Getaways travel discount promotion was available last week, week 4 has just been announced. While I haven’t been particularly fond of any of the week 1 and 2 promotions, there are some in week 3 and 4 I am eying big time! Also, if you have no idea what I am talking about it regards to this Daily Getaways nonsense, make sure to read my prior post from last week here. […]

    • @Peter – thanks! Being up at 6am in Spain definitely helped getting to this promotion at midnight back in the states.

    • @vivek – at a quick glance you are probably correct. By no means are all these deals amazing. While they are better than rack rate, no one pays that anyways.

  1. I thought I’d check out the City Passes… turns out the daily deals prices are exactly the same as the prices currently listed on http://www.citypass.com/. The 10% Amex discount helps, but otherwise this doesn’t seem like much of an ‘amazing getaway at deeply discounted prices’. Perhaps I’m missing something??

  2. @bitachu- you are saying buying 65k points secures Plat status? I could not find that info at PC’s web or on the deal above. Where can I confirm that? thanks

    • @Jim – Not 100% sure, but I received curtsey points from a Crowne Plaza resort last year and they counted towards my status! I was able to obtain gold after that one stay!
