Between now and March 31, 2012 you can get a 50% bonus when you transfer your hotel points to US Airways. There is no registration needed – bonus points will automatically post to your account.

Hotel transfer opportunities with the 50% bonus included:

  • Best Western: 5,000 points = 1,500 US Airways miles
  • Choice Privileges: 5,000 points  = 1,500 US Airways miles
  • Club Carlson:
    • 2,000 points = 375 US Airways miles
    • 50,000 points = 12,000 US Airways miles
    • 100,000 points = 27,000 US Airways miles
  • Hilton HHonors: 10,000 points = 1,275 US Airways miles
  • Hyatt Gold Passport = 2.5 points = 1.5 US Airways miles
    • Earn 5,000 bonus points when converting 50,000 points
  • Marriott Rewards:
    • 10,000 points = 3,000 US Airways miles
    • 20,000 points = 7,500 US Airways miles
    • 30,000 points = 15,000 US Airways miles
    • 70,000 points = 37,500 US Airways miles
    • 125,000 points = 75,000 US Airways miles
  • Priority Club Rewards (IHG): 10,000 points = 3,000 US Airways miles
  • Starwood Preferred Guest: 1 point = 1.5 US Airways miles
    • Earn 5,000 bonus points for every increment of 20,000 points transferred
  • Wyndham Rewards:
    • 8,000 points = 4,800 US Airways miles
    • 17,500 points = 10,500 US Airways miles
    • 30,000 points = 18,000 US Airways miles
  • La Quinta Inns & Suites:
    • 6,000 points = 1,500 US Airways miles
    • 10,000 points = 3,000 US Airways miles
Personally, the only hotel programs that give you a decent value when transferring is Starwood Preferred Guest. For every 20,000 SPG points you can get 37,500 US Airways points – which is pretty awesome! This is also a great promotion is you have lose points laying around in random hotel programs that you have nothing to do with.
  • Valid between March 11-March 31, 2012
  • Bonus miles will post 6-8 weeks
  • The last date that activity from a qualify partner can be received by US Airways for bonus miles consideration is April 10, 2012
  • Only one hotel transfer is eligible for the promotion (although this part is slightly hazy per the T&C – in a week or two we’ll have a better idea what this means)
Thanks Lucky for sharing this promo!

  1. This seems good offer o consolidate points into miles. I was wondering if there is any way to convert Ultimate Rewards into dividend miles? Would love to hear about some creative way to get maximum value from ultimate rewards.

    • @Vinay – I agree with infamousdx. You will lose some value, but you can transfer your Chase UR points to Hyatt and then from Hyatt to US Airways. With Amex MR as well, you can transfer to SPG (while taking advantage of the special 2:1 promotion) and then transfer from SPG to US Airways. Will put together a post for tomorrow con the best options for this,

  2. @Vinay – Doesn’t seem like there’s a great path from UR to US DM. The Priority Club and Marriott ratios are down right pathetic. Best you can do is Hyatt and even that is a 2.5:1.5 ratio.

  3. Shouldn’t the SPG bonus amount to 37,500 miles on transferring 20,000? 20,000 + 5,000 = 25,000 deposited miles x 1.5 = 37,500. Am I missing something?

  4. Why do you think SPG is the only decent transfer partner?

Club Carlson, Wyndham and Marriott have better transfer rates when compared to the base rate points are earned in each hotel loyalty program.

  5. Great deal ,I was 4000 SPG short to transfer 40.000 to get 75.000 miles. So I bought 4000 SPG for $140 , and received 75000 miles in my Usairways account .

  6. @Dutchguypdx – does this mean you have already received your bonus 25K from US Air. I’ve done the same as you but so far only have the 50K from SPG in my account!
