Earn Extra Free Money with Plastiq Payments

You’ve probably seen me write about Drop in the past, but it is a relatively new app where you link your credit/debit card and then earn points at many popular merchants for every dollar spent with that linked card. After you earn “Drop” points, you can redeem them for gift cards at Starbucks, AMC, iTunes, Sephora, Best Buy, Amazon, Old Navy, Dunkin Donuts, etc.

Currently, there is an offer for paying your bills with Plastiq. While the offer will not cover the fees Plastiq charges, this is a way to at least get a little something extra IF you do use Plastiq. Many people use Plastiq to pay bills with a credit card that they could not other wise do if paying the bill directly – i.e., mortgage, rent, school tuition, contractors, etc. Although Plastiq does charge a service fee so the fee you are paying may or may not be worth it – depends on the points/miles you are earning.

With this offer you’ll earn 200 Drop points for every $100 spent with Plastiq. From the terms, there doesn’t seem to be a max number of points you can earn. So let’s say you make a $1,000 payment through Plastiq, that will earn you 2,000 Drop points. Unfortunately though, that is worth only $2 in “Drop” money. So this is definitely not an opportunity to get rich, but instead something to take advantage of IF you are already using Plastiq. Just make sure you activate the offer in your Drop account PRIOR to making the payments with Plastiq.
