Last Day to Fly BOGO with Frontier’s “Friends Fly Free” Promotion

Back in April, Frontier launched an awesome friends can fly free promotion. This is in addition to their Kids Fly Free offer, although the friends offer comes and goes every so often and is not a consistent promotion like we’ve seen with the kids. While I expect we will see this offer pop up at some other point in the future, for right now, this promotion is set to end today.

A few things to know: This promotion is only valid on select routes and dates between August 12, 2019 and February 12, 2020. Travel is valid only on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday. Although travel to/from Florida has slightly different dates: Travel from Florida is valid Tuesday through Friday and travel to Florida is valid Monday through Wednesday. There are also blackout dates: August 29-September 4, November 21-December 2, December 19-January 7, January 16-21. Use promotion FRIENDS to take advantage of this promotion.

The other major caveat to this promotion is that you must have a Discount Den membership which costs $59.99While many folks might already have this to get discounted fares or take advantage of the kids fly free promo, if you do not have this membership, definitely take the additional cost into consideration to see if this promotion actually saves you money. Fortunately though, the membership is valid for up to 6 passengers on the reservation. This means only one passenger has to have the membership.

It really is free!

When Frontier says that your friend will fly free, they truly mean F-R-E-E. You will not pay any additional taxes or fees on the free flight (unless you opt to pay for baggage or seat assignments). When you go to pay for your flights, you’ll see the discounted amount.

I unfortunately have not yet had the opportunity to use this promotion. With that being said, it truly is an awesome way to travel for significantly less and I highly recommend seeing if the dates work for any upcoming travel you might have. Just remember, Frontier charges extra for everything, such as checked bags, carry on bags and even seat assignment.

Have you yet been able to fly on a discount on Frontier Airlines yet?

  1. I’ve search dozens of Frontier airfares from Philadelphia and can’t find even one Friends Fly Free or Kids Fly Free fares, so has anyone landed one of these fares?
