Frontier just extended their reservation schedule so you can now book flights through March 11, 2020. This means you can book flights for peak dates around Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, MLK weekend, Presidents Day weekend, February break and some Spring break weeks. The only caveat is that you must be a Discount Den member to book flights now. Flights for everyone else will open up within the next few weeks. (As of now, non-Discount Den members can only book through mid-November 2019).
With the schedule extension, Frontier announced that they will also be extending their Kids Fly Free promotion. With this promotion, children ages 14 and younger can fly for free with a paid adult ticket on eligible flights. Eligible dates are typically Tuesdays and Wednesdays, although in the fall and winter time period there are some Thursdays and Saturdays that are eligible as well. Unfortunately though, there is a pretty long list of black out dates and excluded routes.
Eligible dates include:
The Big Change
In the past, one-way flights were eligible for the Kids Fly Free promotion. Unfortunately though, with the new extension, only roundtrip flights are eligible. With Frontier Airlines limited service, I know many people fly Frontier one-way and then another carrier the other way. With dates and routes already limited, this makes the promotion slightly less desirable. With that being said, it is still a great promotion as your child can truly fly with you for free if the dates and routes work for you.
I personally prefer the Southwest Companion Pass for flying BOGO, but the Frontier Kids Fly Free promotion is definitely easier to “earn”. With the Frontier promotion, anyone is eligible, you just have to purchase the $59.99 Discount Den membership. With the Companion Pass, on the other hand, you actually have to earn the pass and it doesn’t come easy. Related: Southwest Companion Pass vs. Frontier Friends Fly Free.
While I have the Frontier Discount Den membership I have yet to use the Kids Fly Free promotion, although I really am hoping to take advantage of the offer at some point.
Have you used the promotion yet?
