JetBlue just announced that they will be waiving all change and cancelation fees! This is for flights booked between Feb. 27 and March 11, 2020 for travel through June 1, 2020. This means you can go ahead and book your desired JetBlue flight worry free — primarily due to the coronavirus. This is extended to all fare types, including JetBlue Basic Economy fares.

Just keep in mind though that if you do cancel a flight, even with the fee waived, you’ll receive a refund in the form of a Travel Bank Credit. These credits are valid one year from the date the flight is canceled.

Although, if you have JetBlue Mosaic status, you can always cancel or change a flight for no fee (except on Basic Economy fares). Those with this status can also always get their flight re-priced for no fee if the fare decreases.

For those worried about booking non-refundable travel right now due to the coronavirus epidemic, it is nice to know that JetBlue has you covered. With that being said, I do wish they would have extended this generous policy on flights previously booked as well. It will be interesting to see if other airlines follow suit.

I wish they extended their generosity to those of us who booked even before this corona virus issue escalated. We certainly booked as innocent travelers and now we too have to decide whether to cancel or go. I even think we are more deserving of this offer seeing we had even less of a clue as to how this pandemic would unfold
