Hyatt just announced a brand new promotion where you can earn up to triple points! The number of points you earn is based on the type of property you stay at, but fortunately all properties are participating. This promotion runs September 15 through December 15, 2019. You must register for this promotion.

  • 3x points at Hyatt Place hotels
  • 2x points at all other Hyatt hotels and resorts, including M life Rewards destinations and Small Luxury Hotels of the World

Earn triple points at all Hyatt Place locations!

Now, you’ll only earn the bonus points on your second stay. This is definitely unfortunate for those who do not have many Hyatt stays during the Fall, but there are some tips to maximize your earnings. If your “first” stay at a Hyatt property is lengthy and/or expensive, you might want to consider finding a cheap Hyatt property near your hometown to get your first stay out of the way. That will then allow your first real stay to turn into your second stay and earn you the bonus points. Of course do the math to see if spending necessary money is actually worth it or not.

Also, if you have a stay in a city with many Hyatt properties, you might want to consider swapping properties after your first stay. For example, if you have a two night stay in New York City, stay in one Hyatt property the first night and another Hyatt property the second night. Of course this is more difficult with a family, but if you are a business traveler, moving hotels might not be too difficult. (I know I am going to make my husband due this on his next business trip!).

Overall…

This is a great promotion and I expect it to be one of the better promotions compared to the other hotel chains. I also put a high value on Hyatt points, so to be able to earn double or triple points is great. Additionally, you can even combine the 2x/3x points with many other Hyatt promotions, which is quite amazing. Other Hyatt promotions include: 500 bonus points by booking through the World of Hyatt mobile app, stays count twice at Hyatt Ziva and Hyatt Zilara properties and $250 statement credit at Hyatt Ziva and Hyatt Zilara properties.

So… 3x points is on the 5 base points that you’d earn as a regular member? So you’d get 15x?

The requirement of 1 eligible stay is stupid. I hope Hyatt is reading this.

I’m staying on a paid stay for 7 nights at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki in October and yesterday, I added 1 more night in the beginning of the stay to make it a total of 8 nights. Now I need to cancel that extra night and book a different hotel to take advantage of this promotion. This causes more work for hotel employees and an inconvenience to my family.

Yes, I could just stay at the Hyatt Regency for a total of 8 nights and forgo any bonus but as a Globalist and Diamond member before that, I want to earn as many points as possible so I have no choice.

I love the Hyatt program but sometimes I feel Bonvoyed by them.

Who comes up with these lame requirements?
