If you prefer to earn Alaska Airline miles, over United miles I wrote about this morning, you can earn 500 bonus miles for using their online shopping portal. Although, this is only for new members to the Mileage Plan Shopping Site.a group of people in a machine

Bonus Offer:

  • Sign up for the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan shopping portal here and if you spend $150 within a week of joining, you’ll earn 500 bonus miles. You must sign up by October 22, 2018.

For those not familiar with an online shopping portal, essentially you go through the shopping portal first (in this case Alaska Airline’s), search for your online merchant, and you’ll then be taken directly to that merchants online website. At that point, you’ll shop how you normally would as if you went to the merchants site to begin with. It takes an extra minute and allows you to earn points or miles on the way. The bonus described above is for cumulative spend and doesn’t need to be in a single transaction. Ultimately, if you have $150 of purchases to make online over the next three weeks at partner merchants, you can earn an extra 500 Alaska Airlines miles and that is on top of the miles you’d earn anyways for the purchase.

This is a great opportunity to earn Alaska Airline miles which are definitely very valuable!
