We are now into week 3 of the Daily Getaways promotion and today’s offer is for discounted Best Western Reward points. With this offer, you can purchase 10,000 points for $55. This is maxed at 5 packages per loyalty number, so you really can purchase up to 50,000 points.
With the Best Western program, there are eight different redemption categories. They range from 8,000 to 36,000 points. This means one 10,000 point package will only get you a free night at their lowest level redemption. Similar to all other packages, I absolutely would not purchase these points speculatively. Make sure to compare the price of the lowest possible rate to see if purchasing points is actually a deal.
Deal or No Deal?
I did a quick search in New York City during Columbus Day weekend later this year. This is definitely a peak time to visit New York City. I found a few Best Western properties at 36,000 points per night. With the Daily Getaways package this would require you to purchase 4 packages. A total cost of $220.
When I checked the AAA rate for these exact same properties, I found they cost significantly more then $220 per night. And remember, the rates given do not include taxes.
While I cannot image paying over $300 to stay at a Best Western property, New York City can be quite expensive during peak times. In this particular scenario, buying points is a great deal.
This package will go on sale at 1pm EST TODAY Tuesday May 21, 2019. Availability is limited at 835 total. I do not foresee this selling out within seconds like you’ll see with some other packages, such as the Hyatt packages that will be available during the last week of this promotion. But it is always recommended to be at your computer right away to snag the deal!
