Today Only: Best Opportunity Ever to Purchase Hyatt Points

Today marks the final week of the 5-week Daily Getaways promotion. To start the week off right, there is the opportunity to purchase World of Hyatt points at the best offer you’ll ever see. This is significantly better than the many bonus opportunities to purchase points throughout the year. There is just one problem though — quantity is extremely limited. The packages will go on sale at 1pm ET today, June 3rd.

With this offer you can get:

  • 24,000 World of Hyatt points for $260 (120 available); cost = 1.083 cents per point
  • 30,000 World of Hyatt points for $330 (54 available); cost = 1.1 cents per point
  • 72,000 World of Hyatt points for $775 (25 available); cost = 1.076 cents per point
  • 40,000 World of Hyatt points for $415 (30 available); cost = 1.037 cents per point

For example, World of Hyatt properties start at 5,000 points a night. While category 1 properties might not be a vacation destination, redeeming points can still provide an incredible savings. If you are able to purchase one of the 30,000 point packages, this will give you 6 free nights. At a total of $330, this brings your nightly rate down to $55, including tax. You’ll have a hard time getting that low of a rate at probably most category 1 properties, especially throughout the United States.

Another hotel specific example, is the Andaz Papagayo in Costa Rica moved up to a category 5 property earlier this year, purchasing points through the Daily Getaways is still a great opportunity. This property now costs 20,000 points a night. If you are able to purchase one of the 40,000point packages, this will get you two night at this property. That brings your nightly rate down to $208, which is amazing! Remember, when you redeem points at Hyatt properties, the resort fees are also waived, so even more of a savings as well.

Typically I never suggest purchasing points speculatively, but this might be the one exception. The main problem with this deal, however, is that there are hardly any packages available and they will sell out within seconds. Even being at your computer at 12:59pm ET ready to purchase absolutely does not guarantee being able to make the purchase. I definitely would not plan my day around making this purchase, but if you happen to be home, you might as well attempt.

If you luck out, you can always increase your World of Hyatt account balance by taking advantage of the current 40% bonus on purchasing points through June 11th or applying for the 50,000 point offer with the World of Hyatt credit card. (Learn more about this card and the benefits here).

  1. On the fine print for the Hyatt offers, what counts as “one set” of points for the offer vs “maximum of four sets of points” per World of Hyatt membership number?
