Remember to Activate Chase Freedom 3rd Quarter 5x Point Categories

This post may contain affiliate links from our advertising partners. Read my Advertiser Disclosure policy here. Additionally, some of the offers on this page may no longer be available through Deals We Like.

UPDATE: This offer has expired.

This is a quick reminder to activate the Q3 (July, August, September) 5x point categories on restaurant and gas stations (prior post explaining this). Although you have until the end of the month to get your 5x points up to $1,500, you only have until TODAY (September 14th) to activate. You will get the points for all prior purchases as well, not to worry. If you have not maxed out the $1,500 maximum and there is a certain restaurant you eat at often, think about purchasing gift cards for that merchant to use throughout the year. Same thing goes for gas gift cards.

Starting October 1st, the Q4 category will go into affect where you can receive 5x points on hotels, airlines, Best Buy and Kohl’s. Remember though, it is only up to $1,500 on these categories and after that you will go back to earning the typical 1 point per dollar.

If you are new to the Chase Freedom credit card and the quarterly 5x point bonus points, make sure to take a look at this prior post. Also, here are some of the key perks with this card: 1) if you have a Chase Checking account, you will get an additional 10% bonus on all points earned plus a flat 10 points per transaction, 2) there is never an annual fee, and 3) through this great roundabout method described in the prior blog post you can actually transfer your Chase Freedom points to partner loyalty programs!

DO NOT FORGET TO ACTIVATE!!!
