You Can Still Request a Hilton Status Match

Last year, Hilton put together a publicly available status match opportunity. At the time there was no set date on when you had to actually request the status, but this is a reminder that it is still available! Unfortunately, it is not nearly as good as when they offered back in 2016 and were pretty much handing out status, but it can still be valuable to many travelers! With this status match, Hilton will give you an instant match for 90 days, but to maintain the status you’ll have to complete 4 (Gold) or 8 (Diamond) stays.

The match will be based on what level of status you currently have at another program. The site does not state the corresponding status levels, but based on previous years experience, it seems like this is the match:

  • Hilton Gold = SPG Gold, Marriott Gold, Ritz-Carlton Gold, Hyatt Explorist, IHG Platinum Elite, Club Carlson Gold
  • Hilton Diamond = SPG Platinum, Marriott Platinum, Ritz-Carlton Platinum, Hyatt Globalist, IHG Spire Elite, Club Carlson Concierge

You’ll also need to show proof that you completed at least one stay at the matched hotel chain within the past 12 months.

While it still does not state when you must request this status by, I assume it to be around for the rest of the year. If you have a Hilton stay coming up and currently do not have status, I suggest waiting until 2 weeks prior to your stay to request the status match. This will then allow you to have the matched status instantly for that stay, even if you do not have any Hilton stays coming up to maintain the status. IF, you are able to complete the required 4/8 stays, that status will be valid through March 31, 2019, which is awesome! You can request your status match here.
