Starwood “Take Two” Promotion: September 1 – December 15

Starwoods new Fall/Winter promotion will start September 1st and run through December 31st. While I miss the promotions Starwood used to run, this one is slightly better than what they’ve run in the past. You can earn bonus points two ways:

  • Double points on all stays, and
  • 2,500 bonus points after every 5 nights, up to 10,000 points

This is not an option of earning one or the other, but instead both. So on every stay you’ll earn double the base points and every time you hit 5 nights (non-consecutive ) you’ll earn a bonus of 2,500 points. You are capped at 10,000 points from the 2nd earning option which means 20 nights max. After 20 nights you’ll still earn the double bonus points though.

You can register for the promotion here – you MUST register by October 31, 2013. There are also a good amount of hotels not participating in the promotion, so make sure to take a look at this list now so you are not surprised later.

Hopefully some of the other chains offer a better promotion, but I am not holding my breath.

Comments

  1. You mentioned the 2500 pts for 5 nights is “not cumulative”… does that mean that I would have to stay 5 consecutive nights to get those points? Not one stay with 2 nights, another with 3 nights?

    • @dave – meant to say non-consecutive. Sorry! That’s what happens when I write it in the middle of the night šŸ™‚

  2. @Dave, I don’t know what is meant with non-cumulative. Anyway, one stay with 2 nights and another stay with 3 nights are okay to earn the 2,500 bonus points.

There is a typo in the first paragraph. While the title correctly states that the promotion runs through December 15, the first sentence says, “December 31st”.

With my travel pattern I won’t be able to earn the 2,500 points for five nights, but I guess I will take advantage of the double base points once.
