A reader forwarded me this email he received about the Virgin America Visa® Card:

As a valued Elevate® member and Virgin America Visa® Card holder, we wanted to keep you informed of some upcoming changes to our credit card program.

What’s Changing?

Virgin America is ending the current Virgin America Visa Card program at the end of 2013. By now, you should have received a letter from Barclaycard advising you that your current Virgin America Visa Card, issued by Barclaycard, will be replaced with a Barclaycard branded product by January 15, 2014. Barclaycard will provide you with additional information about this transition and associated changes to your current card benefits.

Keep Using Your Virgin America Visa Card.

Your current Virgin America Visa Card is the only credit card that earns Elevate points for all your eligible purchases.

You can continue to receive all of the benefits of being a Virgin America Visa Card holder through January 1, 2014 including earning Elevate points for all your eligible purchases. Rest assured, any Elevate points you earn up to January 1, 2014 will be credited to your Elevate account as usual and will continue to be redeemable for no blackout reward flights on Virgin America, or with one of our airline partners, after the conversion.

The New Virgin America Credit Card Launches in January.

Virgin America will be offering a new Virgin America branded credit card program in early January 2014. Please look for more information about this new program from us at this time.

In the meantime, please check out our cardholder FAQs, plus be sure to update your contact details in your Elevate account profile so we can keep you informed as we implement these changes.
