National Car Rental just announced their “One Two Free” promotion, where Emerald Club members earn a free rental certificate for every two qualifying rentals between August 20, 2014 and January 31, 2015. A qualifying rental consists of a paid rental of a Midsize or larger vehicle at participating National Car Rental locations in the 50 United States, including the District of Columbia, for a period of two or more consecutive days. You MUST register for this promotion prior to making any reservations – that means if you have any existing rentals you must cancel and re-book. If you are not currently a National Car Rental Emerald Club member, you will need to first join the program (which is free) and you will automatically be entered into the promotion.

  1. I had a bad experience w this last year. After qualifying, they told me I couldnt use the day w my other free days I had from regular renting. Only way to have a car more than one day was to turn the car back after one day to the same place, then re-rent with my other free days for the weekend.I just let it expire

  2. Can you clarify what I need to fax over to National to status match? Their website states they want an account statement from Avis. I just signed up with avis so I do not have an account statement. Could I fax over a copy of my Avis Preferred First card? Thanks for any information.

    • @Kathy – A copy of your Avis Preferred First card should suffice, but you’d have to ask National directly to make sure.

  3. Bad experience, in the terms and conditions it states you can go thru enterprise to get the promotion because enterprise is now National, but after calling them because my points didn’t post, i was told only 1 time with enterprise this will work, it doesn’t qualify after one time, although the promotion goes to January 2015.
