A new perk of the American Express Business Platinum card is that they are offering new and existing card members 10 complimentary Gogo inflight internet passes every calendar year. This benefit, unfortunately though, is only available for those with the “business” version of the Amex Platinum card, not the “personal” version. This is valid for any aircraft equipped with Gogo WiFi (participating airlines: Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, American Airline, Delta, Japan Airlines, United, US Airways, Virgin America). If you go to seatguru.com you should be able to find out whether or not your aircraft is equipped with WiFi.

Gogo WiFi

I had a flight Monday morning and almost totally forgot about this benefit! Fortunately, a few minutes prior to my flight I remember about this nice perk and quickly registered which took all of two minutes.

GoGo WiFiWhen I opened up my laptop on the plane I signed into my Gogo account and saw the 10 complimentary passes that I can redeem. Once they are in your account, they are no longer tied to the Amex Business Platinum card which means if you cancel your card you will not lose the Gogo passes.

Gogo WiFiGogo Inflight WiFi passes can actually be quite expensive, so this is a great way to save money while traveling. Although if you purchase ahead of time, it is much cheaper (prices not shown below but can be around $16 for the day or $5 for one hour).

Gogo WiFiI personally would not get the Amex Business Platinum card solely for this benefit, but it is a nice add on!
