If you love Uber, Reserve, or any other “on-demand” service app out there, you’ll love this new one I came across. Whittl is a on-demand salon service app where you can book a haircut, manicure, massage, etc. with a click of a button. It is a similar concept to Uber and Reserve where your credit card information is stored in the app and no money is exchanged with the merchant. You also do not have to call the merchant to book a service, it is all simply done on the app. As of right now, Whittl only has partner merchants in the following cities: Arlington VA, Boston MA, Brookline MA, Cambridge MA, Chicago IL, Evanston IL ,Oak Park IL, Brooklyn NY, New York NY, and Washington DC.
Now, the real reason I really love this app is because they are currently giving new customers $20 for FREE! I just recently moved to Boston from New York City and found that while NYC might be an expensive city, manicures and pedicures are super cheap! Fortunately though, I was able to apply the $20 credit to get a free pedicure in Boston! There is no minimum for the $20 to be applied, so you can either use it as $20 off your service or a free service up to $20. The booking process was extremely quick and easy. I was also able to apply a tip using the app so really was able to leave the salon without having any cash on me. I love this as typically salons prefer you use cash (and not credit cards) for tips and there are many times I have zero dollars on me! And there is no cost to use this app! Use code BOS2015 at checkout to apply the $20 – it is valid through October 31, 2015.
There is also a referral program where if you sign up through a referral link you’ll receive $10 to use on any future service. Unfortunately though it cannot be combined with the $20 credit, so you can use it for your next service! Here is my referral link, but as always, feel free to include your link in the comments section below.
