Deal Alert: $30 off a $60+ Purchase at Amazon by Using Just 1 Amex Membership Reward Point!

This post may contain affiliate links from our advertising partners, such as American Express. Read my Advertiser Disclosure policy here. Additionally, some of the offers on this page may no longer be available through Deals We Like.

If you didn’t get on the $20 or 20% off Amazon promotion that was announced last week, you still might be eligible for an Amazon savings. Or if you are lucky, you might be able to reap the benefits of both offers — which is great with Black Friday right around the corner. You’ll need to check your account to see if you are eligible for this promotion. You’ll have until Dec. 30, 2019 to take advantage of this particular Amazon savings.

You can also pair this nicely with many of the other discounted Amazon gift card deals and Amazon promotional codes.

Get a huge discount on your next Amazon purchase by using Membership Reward points.

Spend $60 on your next Amazon purchase and get $30 off!

Steps to take advantage:

  • If you haven’t already linked your American Express card to your Amazon account, you can do that here.
  • Activate the offer in your Amazon account
  • Shop at Amazon.com and add $60 or more worth of products to your shopping cart. Note: All products must be sold and shipped by Amazon.com). Many merchant gift cards work as well as Amazon gift cards, so you can go ahead and search for merchant gift cards here.
  • On the payment page, select your linked Membership Rewards earning credit card. At the bottom of the payment page you’ll see all your linked accounts where you can use points (Chase and Amex). Select your American Express Membership Rewards Points account and enter the number of points you want to use towards your purchase. Since I do not like redeeming my points at Amazon (due to the low redemption value), I entered just 1 cent which means 1 point will be applied. For the promotion to apply, the minimum amount required is only 1 pointDo not do full points as it is not a good value!
  • On the checkout page, you’ll see the 1 point applied and the $30 taken off. No promotion code needed!

If you are not eligible for the above promotion (or even if you are), there are two other Amazon offers you might be able to take advantage of using your Amex Membership Reward points. These two offers include:

  • $20 off a $100 purchase
  • 20% off your purchase, up to $50 off

Even if you were not eligible last week when the offer was initially announced, check your account again as some reports have shown additional accounts being targeted.

The $20 off promotion seems to be the more popular offer.

But the 20% off offer is much better!

Overall…

These are some awesome promotions and great ways to save even more money at Amazon. Since this promotion doesn’t require a coupon code, you are also able to combine it with any codes that surface. Just remember to try to active all of the promotions and apply 1 Membership Reward point at checkout: $30 off $60 at Amazon, $20 off $100 at Amazon and 20% off at Amazon. Enjoy your discounted Amazon purchase!

  1. I activated the offer, which was $20% off max $50. My subtotal was $66 but the amex discount was only $3, which is 5% not 20%. Do you know why that is?
