Purchase Hertz Points at a Huge Discount

Even though Hertz massively devalued their award chart, purchasing Hertz points through today’s Daily Getaway can still be a great deal. I also give Daily Getaways a lot of credit since they ended up upping the amount of points in each package to ensure the value was the same after the changes. So even though your prior points earned or purchased are not worth as much, the points purchased today have the same value as they did weeks prior.

Purchase Hertz points

  • 7,500 points for $280 (45 available)
  • 20,000 points for $560; cost (35 available)
  • 25,000 points for $698; cost (50 available)

Saving Money with Purchasing Hertz Points

A free one day rental now costs 750 Hertz points. By purchasing points through this sale, that one day rental will cost you a fixed $28. If you can typically get a car rental for less than this, then this is not the deal for you. If you are looking at renting a car in an expensive location or time period, then this can work out — think about ski vacations or during the holiday time. You can look at the awards chart here.

While these packages can be an excellent way to save money on an upcoming car rental, the quantities are extremely limited. In the past, these packages have sold out within seconds and even if you press the “purchase” button the moment they go on sale your chances are still slim.  I personally am not even going to waste my time with this one, but congrats to the first 130 people purchasing these packages! (Make sure to sign up for a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards member number in advance if you are not already a member). This deal will go on sale at 1pm EST TODAY May 29, 2019.

  1. T&C state you need to use the points for the specific type of rental listed (ie 25,000 points for week long prestige rental). Is that actually enforced?
