  1. Last year we spent a luxurious week at the Le Meridien Split. Great hotel, stellar restaurant & wines (don’t choose the buffet package), very wheelchair accessible and helpful staff.

The hotel is outside the city by quite a little drive so I’d suggest also an in the city stay at the harbor, perhaps inside the historic area of the Diocletian Palace. There are ferries to Hvar (I’ve heard it’s the nicest island/beach/wines) and Brač is a short ferry ride. Both Airbnb and I-escape have great suggestions of where to stay.

  2. We stayed in Korcula rather than Hvar (though we stopped in Hvar). Depends what you want really, Hvar has more “action” but in my opinion is more touristic and less Croatian, and Korcula had better beaches. Also there are good wineries a short trip away both on the mainland or on the island.

Both very nice places though, Korcula aslo had some great places in AirBnb, to the extent I’d rather not tell you and keep Korcula unspoilt!

  3. OP here. Thanks Robert. This is the 3rd mention of Vis. After hearing about a place twice, it usually goes to the top of the list; but thanks to the Croatian ferry schedule, we won’t have the time.

The plan is 3 nights in Dubrovnik (with a day trip to Montenegro), ferry to Korcula for 2 days and 2 nights ferry to Hvar for 2 days and 2 nights, then Split for 3 days and 2/3 night. After that it’s the National Park for an overnight, before heading to ZAG for our last night.
